Deemed as one of the most visited places in the country, Tagaytay has proven to be well-loved by both local tourists and foreign travellers. Nestled in the province of Cavite, Tagaytay boasts of its geographical location as it gives you a good look of Laguna de Bay to the east, a wonderful view of Taal Volcano and Lake to the south and a nice scenery of the Manila Bay at the North. Because of its fairly reachable location from Metro Manila, I have to come to know the city of Tagaytay as one of the places tourists frequent. A hodgepodge of people has come here to experience the cool climate and the picturesque tourist places. Second to Baguio as the summer capital of the Philippines, Tagaytay is home of the scenic spots which are admirable. Apart from the great places to visit here, the cool breezy air adds charm to the city of Tagaytay.

Speaking of cool places to visit in this city, I have come to witness the most fun places in the area. One of the suggested things to do is to see the splendor of Taal Lake and Volcano. And the most beautiful way to see this? Get a ride on the “Sky Eye”! At 150 php only, you would be able to enjoy the view of the Taal Lake. Known as “the tallest Ferris wheel in the Philippines”, Sky Eye is situated in Sky Ranch, the 5-hectare theme park which as regarded as one of the main attractions in Tagaytay. Aside from visiting the famous “Sky Eye”, there are a lot of things to do in the Sky Ranch like riding a carousel or hopping on the express train all at an affordable price of 50 php only.

Moving further, this city allows all kinds of enjoyment through offering different places that people on varying ages could go. Picnic Grove Complex, One Destination and Paradizoo are popular choices to visit. Meanwhile, the visit to Tagaytay would not be complete without getting a taste of its great food. Flocked by tourists, Tagaytay’s beef shank soup or popularly known as bulalo is a great treat after a day’s visit to this city. This hot satisfying soup is composed of beef shanks cooked in a broth along with potatoes, cob and black peppercorns. At an affordable 145 php per serving, bulalo was enough to keep one warm amidst the coolness of the air in Tagaytay.

All in all, a trip to Tagaytay after a long haul at work during the weekend was enough to refresh anyone’s spirit. And for those foreigners who just came for the country for vacation, Tagaytay is a mishmash of both its cold air and hot beef shank soup, a cool attractive view of nature and warm welcome of its people. I don’t see any reason why anyone would not be able to fancy this place.
