Cebu, the one and only beach paradise

Cebu is a tropical paradise that is located at the center of the Philippine archipelago. Also known as the Queen of the South, it is well known for its beautiful white sand beaches and historical spots. Cebu has numerous small islands with scenic beaches where you can enjoy swimming, diving, snorkeling and other water activities.
When in Cebu, you can enjoy the cool breeze, clear waters and the natural cleanness of the seashores.

The Moalboal beach is a popular beach in Cebu where you can scuba dive, snorkel and see colorful fishes and amazing corals. In order to get there, you can take a bus bound for Moalboal and will then ride a “habal-habal” (motorcycle) to reach the beach.

You can have the chance to swim with whale sharks in Oslob which is located 117 kilometers southeast of Cebu. Whale shark watching is between 6:00am to 1:30pm and can cost you around Php400 per person.

The Pajican Island, Tulang Island, and Poro Island are still unspoiled, You can enjoy the sparkling blue waters and fine white sand that are found in the islands.

Cebu rich in history

Cebu is also rich in historical past that goes beyond 440 years ago. You can visit many heritage sights such as ancestral houses and old churches. The Magellan’s cross and the Lapu-lapu shrine are very popular and are visited by thousands of tourists every year.

Sinulog Festival is celebrated annually in honor of the miraculous image of the Santo Nino. It is held every third Sunday of January and is characterized by colorful parade and street dancing.

Cebu is also very popular for its lechon. The term lechon came from a Spanish term which means roasted pig. The price of lechon ranges between Php3,000 to Php5,000 depending on the size. But you can also order per kilogram.

Getting around Cebu is not a struggle. Transportation going around the place is cheap and efficient. Taxis and jeepneys are everywhere. Just wave one arm to call their attention and then tell them where you want to go.

The best time to travel to Cebu is during the summer for you to enjoy the beach and the sand. Daily flights are available from Manila to Cebu and vice versa.
