Bacolod City is located in Negros Occidental in the Western part of the Visayas, which is known as the “Sugarbowl of the Philippines”. It is highly known for its Masskara Festival held during every 3rd week of October. Bacolod City Government Center and Lagoon
The lagoon is a large body of water with live tilapia fish swimming inside. It is part of the South Korea – Philippines development cooperation. Surrounding it is a pathway where locals can jog and walk anytime of the day.
Calea Pastries and Coffee
One of the most popular places where we can find the best tasting cakes, pastries, and coffee in Bacolod. Their products came with a reasonable price, you really get what you pay for.
The Ruins
The mansion was built in the 1900s by Spanish-Filipino sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson for his Portuguese wife, Maria Braga. From then, it was the biggest and most elegant residential structure in the province. The mansion has a 4-tiered fountain brought in from abroad fronting the mansion and lavish furnishings from Europe and Asia filling the lovely home.
But, it met its ill fate in the early part of the World War II when Don Mariano asked Filipino guerrilla fighters to burn the mansion down to prevent Japanese from using it as their headquarters.
Today, the mansion still stands tall amidst sugar plantation and continues to awe both local and foreign tourists.
Campuestohan Highland Resort
It is located in Sitio Campuestohan, Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay, Negros Occidental, not quite far from the city proper of Bacolod.
