Hong Kong is a wonderful location for both leisure and business, so there’s no wonder why it’s so crowded at all times during the year. The city is rich in cultural differences, amazing foods, and great hotels but there are only a few I could recommend for a good night sleep.
So, if your main priority is to get a bit of rest before an important meeting or simply to catch on your rest on your vacation, the hotels below should be the first on your list.
Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong
Yes, this is an expensive hotel, but you have all the associated benefits. From wonderful vistas that help you relax and meditate, to Michelin-starred restaurants and extremely well-prepared staff you don’t have to worry about a thing.
Not to mention that the beds are some of the most comfortable in Hong Kong with luxurious mattresses and gorgeous bedding.
While it is located in the heart of the city, it is specially designed to avoid the general chaos of a metropolis. The hotel has a special entrance to the IFC mall which leads to the Central Business District, the Central Ferry Piers, and Macau ferry terminal. This way, you don’t have to face the streets in order to get where you want.
InterContinental Hong Kong
If you’re looking for something more affordable, but equally impressive, the InterContinental is there to dazzle you with a fantastic view! All the suites, restaurants, and two-thirds of the room face the harbor so you’ll have the world at your feet (so to speak).
In terms of sleeping arrangements, the hotel features big beds, with comfy mattresses and each room is arranged following Feng Shui principles. If this is not enough, the staff is always one button away and you can benefit from the many relaxation services offered by the hotel.
Island Shangri-La Hong Kong
This is a hotel with tradition in Hong Kong and the fact that it is located close to the Hong Kong Park only increases its appeal. After all, who doesn’t love a walk in nature before a good night sleep?
The rooms are cozy and spacious and the beds are very comfortable, which is why this hotel is on my list. I especially loved the mattress in the room I booked as they are a combination of memory foam and gel (like the ones I saw on try mattress). This means that you won’t overheat during the night.
Kowloon Shangri-La
This is the most affordable hotel on my list so you can imagine that it’s not as impressive as the first three options. However, when it comes to the rooms, you won’t be sorry you chose it. The rooms are big and, if you get a harbor-view (which you should), you’ll have a mesmerizing experience.
The beds are comfy and you have access to all the standard benefits of a modern hotel. Still, the general ambiance is a bit vintage and the hotel doesn’t follow the latest standards of elegance. But it works great for people who want a good night sleep without spending a fortune.
