Considered as one of the best tourist spots in the Philippines, Coron, Palawan is a paradise haven. Mostly frequented by families and honeymooners, Coron is a quiet and serene place where you can relax and unwind. Coron is known for its clean lakes, pristine white sand beaches, and island hopping opportunities.
I had my fair share of enjoying the sweet life in Coron. An hour and half plane ride from Manila, you get off at Busuanga Airport. From there, you take ride to the town proper and find some hostels and inns for you to stay. The places aren’t expensive and you can find a good deal if you’re not at all picky. After all, you’ll be spending most of your time outside of your room.
One of the best things to do in Coron is to island hop and snorkel. As I’ve said, it has one of the cleanest bodies of water in the country, and you bet there are plenty of beautiful things to see underwater. Make sure to bring in your snorkeling gears along for this trip. Siete Pecados and Twin Lagoon are two of the nicest snorkeling spots you can go to. After that, you can have your lunch at Kayangan Lake and explore the caves and swoon over the stunning lake and rock formations. It’s a breathtaking experience to explore the wonders of this islands, an experience that you can tell over and over again and not get tired of.
After you’ve had your lunch, you may opt to lounge on their pristine beaches such as Banana Island and at Malcapuya Island, a wonder of its own. What I like most about Coron is that though it has been a premier tourist spot, it’s not a crowded place. You can find peace and quiet and enjoy the true meaning of a vacation – no stress and worries, just pure fun and relaxation.
