Nuat Thai, known for its excellent massage and spa services, has branches sprawled all over the Philippines. In Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, it has two branches: one in San Pedro and another within One Manalo complex along Manalo Extension. The one along Manalo Extension is newer and bigger, and is the focus of this review.
This is good news not only for locals but also for tourists looking for some relaxing downtime in between their hectic travel itinerary, as there are not too many spas in the city. Even better news is how awesome the services of Nuat Thai are.
As a massage enthusiast myself, I get a massage about once a month, and whenever on a vacation. I’ve had the chance to visit this particular spa twice since it opened last December 8 and so far, I give it two thumbs up.
The first thing I love about it is the cozy atmosphere, which believe it or not, is a scarcity in many of the other spas in the city. In one spa I’ve tried, the television was too loud, I had a hard time dozing off. I had to request the manager to turn the volume down. At another, the owner’s chatters could be heard through the walls. And then at another spa, the next door neighbor was drilling through the hole, it felt like they were drilling through my head!
Any massage lover knows that the spa’s ambiance is just as important as the massage itself. This particular Nuat Thai excels in both areas. Right when you enter the premises, you’ll feel your senses calming down. It must be the refreshing scent of eucalyptus wafting in the air, the soothing melody playing in the background, or the stylish interiors with just the right amount of lighting.
The two lovely ladies at the front desk greeted me with smiles and explained to me their available services. I wanted to try them all! They tell me one of their bestsellers is the Swedish massage, which happens to be my favorite and so I tried that one. I wasn’t disappointed.
My therapist knew exactly the right amount of pressure my body needed to relax. She did an excellent job kneading through my muscles and releasing all the tension from my stiff muscles. The whole therapy felt like 75 minutes in heaven!
My second visit was exactly the same wonderful experience. It looks like there’s going to be a third, fourth, and many more visits to this wonderful spa.
