Day hike adventure at Mt. Pinatubo

If you start to love hiking, start it from Mt. Pinatubo. Mt. Pinatubo is located on the island of Luzon, near the tripoint of the Philippine provinces of Zambales, Tarlac and Pampanga. The volcanic and climatic eruption of the Mt. Pinatubo was in March 1991 that gives history in the Philippines.

We started to ride a 4×4 jeep. Of course, we suggested giving us the close instead of open jeep because the dust will enter.

Riding the 4×4 jeep is so adventurous. It is an off-road challenge where you can take a wild and sharp rocky rough ride journey seeing the ash fields and dusty of the valley. Surely, it will heat you up before you start to trek. It’s quite dangerous but really exciting. The drivers are highly skilled. This adventure will take you to see the beauty of the place like Lahar Canyons and Gate of heavens.

It is highly recommended for the hikers to take the challenge that will take you 2 and half hour trekking along the rugged terrain between the huge rocks and boulders. It is so tiring but inhaling the fresh air and seeing the green place around it gives me energy and makes me active that will take me to the top where the Crater Lake of the Mt. Pinatubo view. Seeing another beautiful wonders of the Philippines is a breathtaking. All I can say is WOW! I want to run down and see myself that I succeed.

The lake of the Mt. Pinatubo is the highlight of the trip. It is described as a wide jewel of blue and green color. They said that the jewel of blue and green color appears at the summer months where the sun can see. It will turn dark/dull green if the sun is hiding.

On our way back riding the 4×4 again we saw people that we call them Aetas, our ancestors who lived there for many years ago. They were staring at us with a smile in their faces like what they want to say “Thank you for visiting”.

It is really tiring adventure even in a short day but really gives me a wonderful memories that I can share to others. I am very excited to come again.
