Street Art in Penang , Malaysia

Penang is one of the states in Malaysia which is up north from Kuala Lumpur, the journey from Penang to Kuala Lumpur takes about 4-5 hours by bus. You can take the bus from Pudu Bus Terminal; a bus ticket would cost you about RM35. I would suggest not to miss out Penang when you visit Malaysia. Penang is a city where you can find a modern shopping centre, old classic shop houses, a lot of theme cafés and restaurants, lovely people and also beaches for you to relax!

Few years ago, there was an artist from Lithuania – Ernest Zacharevic who came to Penang and started his paint drawing on the old wall in Georgetown, Penang which has now become one of the main tourist attractions in Malaysia. I went to Penang last month with a friend of mine from Austria, we spent about 3 days there, and of course I did not miss out the chance to see all the wall paintings there!

You can easily get a guide for all these painting from your guesthouse or any tourist centre, then follow the route and find all these paintings out! However, there are few paintings that are not stated in the guide, so just keep your eyes open and find it out!

I personally like this the most and don’t forget to do some funny poses with the wall painting! Just be as creative as you can!

This wall painting is not listed in the guide so you have to find it yourself, it’s near to the fire station, just inside a small alley.

I enjoy Penang a lot! The culture, the food, the people, the environment, it is definitely a good place to have a getaway on the weekend.
