Break Away from City Hustle and Bustle and Head Over to Stilts Calatagan

It was the day after an all-night house party at my friend’s house. We had so much fun that nobody wanted to go home the next morning. One had this great idea to head to the beach. Living in Manila meant that it would be at least a four-hour travel to get to the nearest decent beach. But nothing could stop us. We packed our things and headed over to Stilts Calatagan in Batangas.

Good thing we did a little bit of research before leaving home. It turned out the place offered a campsite, which was perfect for us. We just had to pay P700 for the entire group (we were six people) and we were given a nice spot for setting up our tents and hammocks. The staff also offered us our own portable grill, a table, and a couple of chairs. Though we weren’t staying in their more expensive accommodation, they treated us as if we were. They were very nice and accommodating.

The resort had a tranquil and relaxing environment—calm waters, white sand, lush trees, and golden sunset. The water isn’t as clear as what you’ll find in El Nido or Boracay, but it was good enough to give us a break from the chaos of the metropolis. There was also a swimming pool located at the back part of the resort. We didn’t spend any time there because it was a little crowded, unlike our beachfront spot, which was a lot more quiet and peaceful. There was also a restaurant that served delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Overall, it was a wonderful trip that would be difficult to forget. If you feel like you want to break away from your daily stressful life, consider having a quick vacation at this beautiful resort in Calatagan, Batangas.
